Our Mission

We are a nonprofit social enterprise(501c3) that focuses on community development by promoting civic and social literacy to instill self-reliance while addressing the immediate needs of the economically underresourced in Wilkinsburg and the East End region.
Civically engaged communities are sustainable communities.

FreeStore Wilkinsburg

Free Store Wilkinsburg redistributes new and lightly used goods at no cost to East End community members, especially in times of financial stress and/or emergency. FSW relies on donations by corporate partners, community members, and volunteers.

FRESHMARKET LOGO
Wilkinsburg Fresh Market was founded through a partnership with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Currently, we work with American Heart Association & Monteverde's Produce to provide fresh produce at no cost to community members. Through this market, we also encourage healthy meal preparations, and education on nutrition.

CommunityCare Wilkinsburg

Civically has partnered with Grounded, an organization dedicated to improving the overall health of communities by building capacity to reclaim vacant and underutilized land, to bring CommunityCare to Wilkinsburg!

CommunityCare is an incentive-based stewardship program that works with residents to beautify their neighborhoods. We provide the tools, resources, and support for stewards to participate in greenspace maintenance work.

Reimagine The Hunter

Civically, Inc. is committed to the lasting social and economic developments in Wilkinsburg. Through the redevelopment of the Hunter Building, we are investing in Wilkinsburg’s future and viability. Let’s reimagine the Hunter Building.
